USA Investor in Nepal to find out Investment Sectors and Partners- Global Compact Nepal (GCN)

United State investors are seeking potential partners and areas to invest in Nepal. Global Compact Nepal (GCN) with Nepal Development Consortium (NDC) conducted the networking event meeting for Nepalese businessman to explore and interact the business possibilities with American Investors at UN Headquarter, Pulchock, today.

 

 

American business person Murthy Kalkura (MK) and Debadutta Das (Dash) also core member of  Nepal Development Consortium (NDC) interact with Nepalese business personalities to find out the possible areas to invest. Murthy Kalkura (MK) said that accountability, transparency and return of money is a key factors to attract foreign investors. Nepal can achieve the development dream through FDI, he addressed.

 

Pradip Shrestha said, "Nepal is landlocked country not a mind locked country." 

Debadutta Das (Dash) from Washington DC USA said, Nepal and Washington have many similarities, like mountains and agricultural GDP but income of  Nepalese tourism and agricultural production are seems to be very low in comparison to DC. Mr. Das highlighted the impact of FDI and possibilities to invest in various sectors.

 

 

In the meeting with Nepalese stake holders and possible partners, both American Investors are emphasized in Nepal's natural resources, tourism, infrastructure building, agricultural production, and technology sectors as a possible investment and attraction of FDI and partnership business.

 

Meanwhile, Das and MK has said Washington State Governor Jay Inslee is going to visit Nepal in April 2020 and sign Sister State Relationship agreement with Gandaki Province.

 

Guest Speaker Chairman of  Panchakanya Group, Pradeep Shrestha said, "Nepal is landlocked country not a mind locked country."  There are number of virgin and potential areas to invest in Nepal, environment of private sector business is good in Nepal so , that not need to much worry about to foreign invest, said Mr. Pradip.

 

Chairman of United Nations Global Compacts Nepal  Pradeep Man Vaidya welcomed Debadutta Das (Dash) and Murthy Kalkura (MK) in Nepal. He urged that foreign investment can change the economy of country. FDI can generate the employment opportunities ,it can help in development and stop the unemployment migration too, said Mr. Baidhya.

The Nepal Development Consortium (NDC) was born November 2019, when a Nepalese delegation led by Gandaki Province Chief Minister, Prithvi Subba Gurung, visited with Washington State Governor Jay Inslee in the USA.  With a vision of building a sister state relationship between Washington and Gandaki, the NDC will act as an enabler for bilateral trade related to tourism, infrastructure development, renewable energy, information technology as well as agriculture, with a focus on sustainability.
